Boca Chica NAS Marina, Key West

Exploring by kayak

The weather has been gorgeous all week.  Luke checks the Hartford Courant webpage each morning and sees the severe winter up North seems to be gone now and we are praying you will be blessed with an early spring.  We are making preparations to head northward in less than two weeks as are many of us here.

Luke in the Mangroves

Some will go further south to the Bahamas and the Exumas, like our boat neighbor who left this week while others of us will go back north up the east coast as far up as Maine or up the Mississippi as far up as Minnesota.

Peaceful view

We picked up some spare Volvo oil filters for the engine and five gallons of oil, changed the aft main fuel filter as well as the water impeller to pump seawater through the engine to cool it.  We changed some lightbulbs in main cabin.  Topped off the hydraulic oil for the steering.  Had the USCG come aboard and we passed a safety check.   We’ll be working to make sure all navigational lights work and have replacement parts on hand.  Tomorrow we’ll take LESSER LIGHT over to a nearby marina to fuel up and we’ll be studying charts and guides right up to departure date to determine the safest route back home to CT.   We know God is already working around us and has and will continue to protect us at every port or anchorage.  We will wait on Him for His perfect timing and provisions for the journey.  In our Bible study and through the sermon today at Big Coppitt First Baptist Church, we are learning God is working around us all the time, He invites us to become involved in the work He is doing, He speaks to us through His word, prayer, meditation, circumstances and others to reveal His plan, and as we obey, we make the necessary adjustments in our lives to join Him where he is working so that He accomplishes His work through us.  Yes.  He uses ordinary people like you and us to accomplish His goals and what God initiates, He also completes.  Praise God!

God's handy work
